| I Find it difficult to represent the music of Lazarus Clamp in words, which is to their credit really. Whilst each song contains a new sound, idea or emotion, each one is distinctively Lazarus Clamp, (and that is not as stupid as it sounds). They are rare in their ability to combine both formal and emotional variety with such success whilst still remaining original. To my mind they sound almost devoid of influence, each element being vital to delivering their complex, stuttering rhythms with grace. The subtleties of their sound are meticulously prepared and deftly executed. Maybe this is why they are so difficult to tag with words. You might say they transcend labelling. |
